Working on a Man

During the annual Art Splash festival yesterday in our town, I saw this young lady working intently on her masterpiece at the end of the event.  It was obvious that she wouldn't finish, but the effort and work she put into her creation was amazing.    She is only 17 years old but she obviously has years of talent already.  Even after the event announcer closed out the festival, she was still hard at work... knowing that in an hour or so, the fire department would hose the masterpieces into the nearby gutter.

The jacket and little tray of chalk was a wonderful contrast to the monochromatic image she was creating.

A nearby artist had just completed her project and was busy trying to photograph her work:  A Lady and a Butterfly.  I loved how the long shadows of the day, filtered through a nearby tree dappled the look of her drawing.  The intense blue eye was complimented by the colors of the butterfly.

Ah, mankind, so gifted and talented!
