Had the opportunity to photograph the executives for a Gold company in Orange County. Not only did I do the head shots of the company employees, but I photographed some of their product, as well.
I had two set ups: the first was outside on the balcony of their building where we could show the hills in the distance. The problem was that the sun was beating down on the space. So I used a 4x4 "silk" on a stand to put over their heads to shade them from the sun. I used one White Lightning strobe balanced for the sunlight to illuminate the face.
The other set up I used was the gray paper background with studio lighting, so they could have two choices for their informal portraits.
They sell rare gold coins and other gold products for investments. So we did a set up with one of the coin graders, called a Numismatist. He showed me some of the coins, including one worth only $10,000! That's a lot of money for a little piece of gold.
